The Espia ICE tire from Falken is a studded tire designed for 4x4 vehicles. The pattern is directional with edges oriented in a "V" towards the center of the tread; this allows for efficient dispersion of water and melted snow. The rubber blocks are equipped with Miura folding 3D sipes (Miura-Ori 3D, a technology patented by Falken) for optimal grip on snow and smooth, controlled steering; increased longevity and rigidity. The two-layer structure (silica and rigid) allows for grip and traction on snow and ice. The studs are made of tungsten carbide.
