The Sportnex CR-S by Nankang is an Extreme Performance Summer tyre crafted for track enthusiasts and motorsport aficionados seeking superior dry traction and handling. Engineered for optimal performance in warm, dry, and damp conditions, this tyre is not suitable for use in freezing temperatures, snow, or ice.
Designed with a focus on performance, the Sportnex CR-S features a newly developed tread compound that quickly reaches its ideal operating temperature. Its asymmetric tread design is tailored for speed, with broad-shouldered outer elements providing maximum lateral grip. An intermediate circumferential groove aids in heat dissipation during aggressive driving and assists the inner grooves in water evacuation to prevent hydroplaning.
The internal structure includes a two-ply polyester casing for enhanced handling and stability. Two wide steel belts support the tread, reinforced by an Aramid cap ply to boost handling and high-speed performance. The sidewall compound is designed to manage heat and improve stiffness for a responsive driving experience.
All current and future Sportnex CR-S tyres incorporate Nankang’s updated V2 compound. It is important to note that tyres exposed to temperatures below 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) should be allowed to gradually warm to at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for 24 hours before any flexing, such as adjusting inflation, mounting, or driving.
Using these tyres in cold conditions can lead to irreversible compound cracking, which is not covered under warranty as it results from improper use or storage. Tyres with such damage must be replaced.
