Description

Launched in 2022, the Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart IV is a high-performance sport touring tire. The rubber compound has been improved, the tread pattern optimized, for exceptional grip on wet roads and better longevity. The Sportmax Roadsmart IV brilliantly inherits the JointLess Tread (JLT) and Multi-Tread (MT) technologies used by Dunlop in competition, for reduced wear and attenuated sound vibrations. The tire is more durable, for longer; the carcass construction techniques (DFF and CTCS) ensure better handling and stability.

Delivery to the address of your choice: you can bring your tyres to one of our partner centres to carry out the fitting service.

Delivery to a fitting station: the partner will contact you upon receipt of your order to arrange an appointment and carry out the fitting service.

Was not delivered!!! No communication as to why, money refunded. Had to order from a competitor. As a planned tour was coming up, and this delivery also took a long time, I had to buy a different brand (Mezeler). It would have been good if I had been informed promptly about the unavailability.

Very good tyre under all weather conditions and temperatures. As a touring tyre with reinforced carcass (GT), it is not very comfortable, but almost drives like a sports tyre with excellent wet performance. However, it tends to develop significant sawtooth wear when driven aggressively. Mileage of 8000-9000 km with mixed use in the Bergisches Land / Sauerland / Dolomites and also longer motorway sections. Significantly better than the standard GPR 600 tyres.

Very reliable tyre on dry and wet road. Extremely long life with after 6400 km only 1-1.5 mm of rubber gone. However, I have never seen road tyres (front and rear) with so much cupping on the side, not in the centre. It doesn't seem to affect the roadholding, but when cornering it sounds like tractor tyres. The sides seem to wear faster than the centre.

I have driven only a few kilometers, but the road holding is exceptional, especially in fast corners where it has phenomenal grip... like a rail. A paradox, I feel safer in corners than on a straight road. Only small criticism (previous DUNLOP MUTANT tires, 5 stars), when you open up at about 200 km/h, it starts to sway slightly, which then disappears with increasing speed. Then they are very quick to lean into the corner. In short, I think I will not change anymore.
